The chairman of the Kosovo Chamber of Economics (OEK), Berat Rukiqii, has said that 2019 has been characterised with the wrong decision to raise salaries in the public sector, as well as a lack of explanation about the tax on Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Viti 2019 is characterised with the wrong decision to raise salaries in the public sector, as well as the continuation of the unclear situation about the fee for goods from Serbia and Bosnia. There was no serious investment that would create jobs, as elections and delays occurred for institution formation, which affected the privacy of doing business in Kosovo”, Rukiqi told “New age”
He has stressed that his expectations for 2020 are in terms of economic reforms.
This year, we expect innovation in economic policies if the government starts operating that came out of this year's elections. But we do not expect much change in view of the burden on topics like dialogue, but also social pressure, including strikes and many other open and unresolved issues for many years”, he said.
