Kosovo has started 2020 without an approved budget due to delays in the Kosovo Parliament's constitutionalisation, which is the key institution for budget passage.
However, even after its establishment on December 26th of last year, MPs have not yet gathered to give the green light its approval.
By connoisseurs and circumstances it is estimated that its disapproval until April leads to chaos.
In 2020, Kosovo started without an approved budget.
Although there is no problem expected for the first three months of this year, in the event of budget disapproval by April the circumstances could change.
If the assembly does not pass the budget for this year, all payments for wages, pensions, and other services are halted by April. This, according to economic connoisseurs, brings chaos, financial and budgetary crisis in the country.
On the other hand, officials from the Government of Kosovo have told “Zerit” that there is enough budget to cover this year's first three months.
So far, only the medium-term cost frames 2020 (30), which presents the main document on which the 2020 annual budget would have to be drafted.
According to this framework, Kosovo's budget is envisioned to be around 2.4 billion euros.
