At midnight it has expired the ultimatum of Democratic League of Kosovo President Isa Mustafa for Vetevendosje Movement in terms of achieving the ruling coalition, after more than three months of unsuccessful negotiations.
The two parties have had talks, after the 6 October elections, but have not reached agreements so far, despite statements on both sides for approach.
Democratic League of Kosovo deputy leader Lutfi Haziri, on the last day of the ultimatum for Vetevendosje Movement over forming the ruling coalition, has chosen Facebook to declare the matter.
He has said that a fair and balanced division of power on the principles of trust would make the governing programme, with the VV leading Government and the LDK leading MPs, empower coalition.
I like to have a little more patience, because these internal consultations allow us to eliminate all sorts of obstacles and any planted bomb of mandate 4+”, order Haziri.
The Vetevendosje movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo have had clashes over the division of positions, including that of the chief parliament and the president.
In the latest public bid, the LDK urged Vetevendosje to give up its prime parliamentary in the first year of co-government. After a year, when the LDK takes over the post of president, this party has said it would return its top speaker position to the VV. But this has called the LDK's request unacceptable, saying it cannot remove it.
At the constitutional session of December 26th, Glauk Konjufca has been elected to chairman of the 7th Parliament of Kosovo.
President Hashim Thaci has mandated Albin Kurti, leader of the Vetevendosje Movement for forming the country's new government, though the latter did not come to his office as he had invited him.
Otherwise, February 4th is the deadline for forming the new Kosovo government.
