Public discussion “The challenges that must be addressed by the VII legislature”, organised by KDI, were dominated by questions about the coalition agreement between the VV and the LDK.

The response the citizens received was that both political parties have will and believe such an agreement will be reached so that on Monday when the session is held a government of these two parties will be voted.

Vetevendosje MP Artan Abrashi has indicated that on Monday the new Kosovo government will be voted in and that prime minister will be VV chairman Albin Kurti.

And right I still believe there will be a deal. At first, we have had the conviction that this issue is almost a matter carried out, just after the certificate of results, unfortunately came up with some complications in the streets which we haven't expected, I'm speaking from the perspective of LVV. I know this case has been prolonged, of course the citizens have begun to lose their patience fairly. Better, though, let this process be extended, and let it be done well than to remain many inexplicable issues and then face problems as we have had in the past. Let it be an agreement, I wish it would initially become, which led to the final point and detail, so it explains every possible dilemma so that the moment the government starts its work, those problems undisputed during government time will not arise. There's 48 hours left. Of course I do, I believe it's the”, he said.

While LDK deputy Besian Mustafa said the will exists in LDK to have agreements with LVV and on Monday to vote on a government.

He said there is real possibility that on Monday there will be a joint government between LDK and LVV.

“A still exists the will in LDK to have a co-governance agreement with LVV, the answer is yes. Will we achieve that those differences that have been huge at first, we are different parties in terms of schedules that we have achieved those differences to reduce, so there have remained small differences between our two political parties, in terms of programming there are almost none left. So, is there any real possibility that on Monday we have a joint government, yes... as LDK deputy I'm saying that whether in the LDK parliamentary group, or 28 deputies, either in the LDK's bodies continues to have the will to reach a co-government agreement, so to vote a joint government Monday... I'm hoping to have a prime minister Monday, of course these are institutions without which cannot be continued. They are details of the political agreement, but without a political agreement between the two parties we will not have government Monday, then those technical details of the political agreement cannot discuss without finalising, but the important thing would be to have an agreement by Monday or Sunday”, he said.

In the event of failing to reach agreement between LVV and LDK, LVV cannot wait in the votes of opposition political parties.

PDK MP Eliza Hoxha said that as a party, there has been no obstacle to establishing the country's institutions, until she stressed that since October 6th they have declared they will be in opposition.

“We are pro-creating the government, we've been distanced since 6 October, so we've been declared until the president's results are closed and it's been declared that we go into opposition. So, we haven't been an obstacle to this” process, she said.

A coalition between LVV and LDK will not be able to function according to Alliance for the Future of Kosovo MP Albena Resiti, as co-existence between these two parties is unnatural.

Kosovo's “more than ever today needs a reliable, practical coalition that will start making changes in the future. I suspect and the AAK strongly suspect that such a coalition will be functional, will arrive, because it is not natural, it is very Divergent in their ideology, and I think that Kosovo is small for me after so much or to create so much frustration in the population or to create so much fog. I think very much that at a moment in which Kosovo is at a very important historical crossroads, but also very dangerous for our future we have to unite all political forces and do something together to take responsibility in the right decisions that await us”, she said.

As for whether they will vote on a government Monday, Resitij said they will be opposition.

While MP Mirlinda Sopi from the AKR said as a party they still do not have a decision whether to vote on it or not, but who points out that there is no principle agreement.

If I am asked as Mirlinda has failed me because it is now evidence that there is no agreement on principles and that there are no discussion of principles and the programme. If I am asked as Mirlinda I have a lot of dilemma, while in terms of the party we have no decision and we have not yet come up with a position that we will be pro or anti-”, she said.

One issue that has been discussed by MPs is the need for Kosovo to be divided into electoral areas, where most were supporters of the idea for Kosovo to be divided into electoral areas.

LDK MP Besian Mustafa said he supports the idea of Kosovo being divided into electoral areas, as this, according to him, will influence all citizens' problems to be addressed.

I think it would be a good idea to have some areas, not many, to have 5 or 6 electoral zones, to have a more direct representation of those demands, needs and interests of that region”, he said.

And the same thought was PDK deputy Eliza Hoxha.

This helps balance regional presentation and I believe that, in terms of addressing investments, balances that item”, she said.

But such an idea does not support VV deputy Artan Abrashi, who said such an idea would function in a state that is much bigger than Kosovo. He said the regions would have greater representation, but the Assembly would be transformed into a regional representation arena, which, according to him, under modern circumstances is not very effective.

“Reresponsible to negotiate politics, negotiate the Parliament. It means an MP if he comes from Prizren the tendency is always to present Prizren's problems as more priority, bypassing issues involving Pristina, Pec”, he said.

In this public discussion, MPs from political parties that will be first in the Kosovo Assembly have indicated what their priorities will be during this legislature. Health, education, economics, sports, and culture were some of the priorities of these MPs.
