For 10 years, Kosovo doctor Milot Rama has gone to the German state, in which he has found work in some of the most prestigious clinics.
The way things worked in the country had led him to leave Kosovo at the age of 25, despite the strong desire to work here, writes the newspaper “Zeri”.
Year after year we see large numbers of health workers who release Kosovo to find jobs in other states, mainly in Germany.
Based on the current situation in Kosovo, Rama has said no one should expect the qualified medical staff to stay in the country.
I think of course it's my moral responsibility and of every doctor to contribute to the country he has educated and to the society that invested in it. But I'm saying again, with this distorted system of values in the last 20 years no one can expect the qualified staff to remain in Kosovo”, he has said.
He has indicated that if there were changes in the country, then he would return and make his contribution to Kosovo.
If there is an indicator for change, of course. The people of Kosovo voted for change. Let's see how things are going. For the candidate for prime minister, I have a very positive opinion. He was even in the opposition trying to create a functioning community of Kosovars in Berlin”, he added.
