Diseases Taking the Life of Kosovars

Kosovo's Statistics Agency has published a report on the causes of death in Kosovo. This analysis has been prepared during research in 2016/2017 and also 2018.

According to this report, the 2016 report was 9245 reported deaths already in 2017, with 9670 deaths.

According to the death cause encoding, Kosovo first occupied “Blood flow system disease”, second place in the group of diseases “Tumoret”, third placed group “Breathing system disease”

Meanwhile, the deaths reported by family members and recorded in the amza for deaths in 2018 were 9991, of them deaths in Kosovo alone, 8998, while the deaths that took place outside Kosovo totaled 993.

Violent deaths in 2018 have been reported 177 cases or 1.9%.

Disaster 129 or 72.9%, suicide 27 or 15.3% and murder 21 or 11.9%. Disasters and murders dominate the age of 2049 in both males and females, while suicides dominate the age of 50 and more both men and women.

A total of 242 were reported dead babies in 2018, and the total turnout is 2.7%. Men 134 or 55.4%, women 108 or 44.6 %.

Dead babies up to 6 days have been 147 or 60.7.%, 7 to 27 days have been 50 or 20.7% and 28 days to 1 year have been 45 or 19%.
