Drinking coffee can activate the body's protective system, a discovery that can have potential consequences in the fight against obesity and diabetes.

In a study published Monday, University of Nottingham researchers said that coffee could help stimulate the reserves of brown fats, also known as “brown adiposid tisue”, which plays a key role in the speed at which our calories are burning.

There are two forms of fat cells, those brown and white, and each plays a different role in our metabolism. While coffee cells help generate heat, white ones are responsible for depositing fats.

The levels of brown fats are high in children, but recently their presence has been revealed in the adults Cheçka has even turned the hope of using them as targets to address obesity.

Scientists began testing coffee to see if it could stimulate brown fats. Once they found the exact dosage, they saw the results in people. The study is still in its early stages, however, well on track. Drinking a cup of coffee helps with losing weight.
