Even this year, schools are facing the challenge of reducing the number of students, the Ministry of Education says over 10,000 students have halted the learning process.
School rejection by students is continuing this year.
And the reasons are different.
Some students seem to have abandoned school, family reasons were forced to move from city to city, or because of conditions.
The migration is remaining as one of the main factors Kosovo schools are staying with fewer students.
Alush Istog, director of the Pre-university Department, says the number of students who have abandoned learning in Kosovo is emerging to be around 10,000.
We have a professional group that has developed a student dropout strategy. If we look at the region, we have about 1.9, over 10,000 students, who don't follow lesson”, says Alush Istog, director of Pre-university Education.
According to data at the Ministry of Education. There are even such occasions when students go from school to school.
And their names continue to figure out the old lists.
But these aren't leaving now, any students that are registered until they get the card they can't push it from evidence. We've asked the student to move, to give him the card, to be forwarded to the next school, to be recorded in the motherbook, which should be removed from school, he adds.
But if we compare with past years, it seems that this phenomenon is on the decline.
There's a phenomenon that abandon can never be removed, but it can be reduced. We have a trend, 2.5 now we have 1.9. It's a drop phenomenon”.
Istog also told T7 that the Ministry of Education in co-operation with MPB has arranged for students returning from immigrant countries in Kosovo to be allowed to integrate into school.
The pre-graduate department director says 2017 has been the largest year of abandonment, but then, 2,000 re-responding students are integrated into the school system immediately.
