They gathered in front of the University of Belgrade due to suspicions that Finance Minister Sinisa Mali has been plagiarising with the case of doctor protection.
Students have been demanding that the findings of a university council be made public regarding the review of the minister's doctorate.
In May of this year, this council had succinctly decided that the minister's diploma text does not reach the level of plagiarism.
Doubts on the issue had begun several years ago, when a group of experts had estimated that the minister has copied the work of others, but within the allowed level.
However, Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has harassed protesters in words, saying he will not meet their demands even if five million people are on the streets.
He even made fun of the protests during his conversation with journalists at the United Nations headquarters in New York, saying <x0-vent reactor”.
Protests in Serbia began last year and are being held for every weekend. Protesters are demanding distribution of the assembly and holding free and fair elections, writes “Free Europe”.
