Protesters were dressed in black clothes, disguised, and equipped with umbrellas. The protest became violent following the clash with police forces, similar to in the past three months.
A large group of violent protesters have gathered on Hardourt Street. They threw bricks towards the police. Their actions pose a serious threat to the security of all”, the police statement said.
Protesters are also planning to protest the leaders of the Communist Party in Beijing several days before marking the 70th anniversary of China's Independence Day.
In recent weeks, protesters have also sought help from the United States and Great Britain so Hong Kong can maintain the right to autonomy. British authorities have said China should respect the 1984 agreement on the transition of power.
The protests were launched in June due to the extradition bill in China. The government has already withdrawn the bill, but protesters have laid off additional requests for the government, writes “Reuters”
