President Thaci seeks recognition of Kosovo by Holy See

The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, under the works of the General Assembly of the United Nations, has held a meeting with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Pieter Parolin.
The head of our country has initially thanked Paroli for the support the Holy See has given to the people of Kosovo before, during and after the war, saying that the formal recognition of Kosovo would crown its entire commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the Western Balkans and Europe.
The people of Kosovo have always been guided by the values of St. Teresa, values of tolerance, peace and co-existence. We are grateful for the support the Holy See has given to the people of Kosovo. All that remains is recognized by Vatican”, Thaci said.
President Thaci has informed Secretary Palolin of religious harmony in Kosovo of co-existence among communities, the values upon which the state of Kosovo is built.
On the other hand, Secretary of the State of the Holy See Pytro Parolin has said the Holy See is committed to peace, tolerance and stability in Kosovo.
Otherwise, under the works of the UN General Assembly, President Thaci will continue numerous meetings with representatives of the participating states at the event.
