Millions of euros abused on behalf of northern integration

The main sources of funding in northern Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Zvecan and Zubin-Potok are from the Kosovo budget, from European Union donations and financial aid from Serbia, which continues to keep parallel structures alive, Koha Ditore writes today.

Success was considered the creation of the Development Fund for northern municipalities in 2013, following an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. After a good period of revenue collection, the Fund has suffered drastic decline in recent months.

The reasons that have brought this situation are under investigation, at the request of the European Union. The main reason for the decline in revenues is the reduction of imports from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina after the 100 per cent tax is imposed.

And the tools that have already been poured into municipal accounts have been distributed on various projects. But their spending has been coupled with abuse and lack of transparency.
