Kosovo Aegean Chief Chief Chief Isa Krasniqi says that on the basis of the 2011 census and the population's assessment for 2018, Kosovo's entire Republic is 1 million and 795 thousand and 666.
Krasniqi says the upcoming census in the Republic of Kosovo according to European and World Rule standards and regulations will be held in 2021, where preparations are under way.
“We are talking about the population of the Republic of Kosovo, in the total territory of Kosovo, including every part of the Republic of Kosovo. So, we've done the assessment, no matter what it might be misunderstood, since in 2011 we've had a rejection of four municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo in the north, but the Kosovo Statistics Agency has exploited different and very important resources and made assessment to that part by then putting it into the total population's estimate of”, Krasniqi says.
The head of the KSF, speaking of foreign trade, states that import of goods has increased in the last period, despite the introduction of tax on goods from Serbia and Kosovo's export growth.
He stresses that for policymakers this signal is important for establishing development policies for the future.
The import range from the northern neighbouring state is extremely large. So we have an extremely large decline in import, but the import of certain goods has been replaced with imports from other countries. Krasniqi also says there is an increase in prices of some everyday consumer products for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo in the past period.
While for GDP, Krasniqi says there is an increase compared to the countries in the region, which is slightly above 4 per cent in the past two years, according to which it is stable.
For 2017, we have a percentage of just over 4 percent, but in the last three-month publication we've published for the first quarter of 2019, it's just over 4 percent. So, we have a stable GDP growth, and there is another aspect of how these decision-making institutions use this data to convert these economic growth numbers even in terms of growth in jobs, in developments in other sectors, as well as many other” areas, Krasniqi says.
For the unemployment rate, ASS chief chief chief Isa Krasniqi says there is a drop in unemployment from 30.1 per cent to 26.9 per cent.
According to him, for the first three months of 2019, the unemployment rate in the Republic of Kosovo is 26.9 per cent.
