During a meeting today at the Kosovo Police General Directorate, General Director Rashit Qalaj has spoken about the Kosovo Police's commitment to implementing the police plan for “parliamentary early elections -2019”.
The meeting featured deputy directors of the KP, department directors, divisions, regional directors, police station commanders and representatives of the US ICITAP, who were announced in terms of planning, assessments and police commitments in providing security and management of the election process as a very important process for the country.
Director Qalaj during this meeting argued that establishing a calm and secure climate for all Kosovo citizens, as well as keeping order, calm and public security in the country before, during and after the election process, is a priority for the Kosovo Police.
At the same time, all senior police superiors were required that all prior duties and commitments with the police plan be realised professionally and with high dedication.
Operational planning has envisioned the implementation and implementation of the police operation in four phases, from the pre-election period, engagement in providing security during the pre-election campaign, engagement and ensuring security on Election Day, and the period following elections that envisions transport under submission and security of the sensitive material until the end of the process.
The attendees also discussed the initiative and prosecution of any criminal act against the right of voting and the enterprise of all procedural measures against anyone that conflicts with laws regulating/sancitating illegal acts against free and democratic elections, in co-ordination and close co-operation with the State Prosecutor under law-based agreements.
