Kosovo has achieved satisfactory progress in Public Finance Management

At this meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Finance Minister Fatmir Gashi, the annual 2019 Public Finance Management Strategy Progress Report (MFP) 2016 - 2020, where in attendance it was described as a achieved one, especially areas in external and domestic auditing.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Gashi, as part of Kosovo's success in reforms undertaken in the area of Public Finance Management, there is continued dialogue with all actors involved in the process.
I am deeply convinced that this co-operation will continue and develop further. Public Finance Management has the Government's maximum commitment of the Republic of Kosovo to establishing a modern and transparent MFP system in line with international standards and principles” added Deputy Minister Gashi.
He on this occasion also thanked the Kosovo Government development partners, with particular emphasis on the European Commission, for the continued support of reforms that are being implemented successfully, and thanked all professional staff who are committed to implementing the Strategy, which according to him are key activists who have influenced the successful implementation of this Strategy.
While Finance Ministry Secretary-General Naim Battiu once and leader of the MPP Co-ordination Group stressed that last year, we have done mid-term review of the Reform Strategy on Public Finance Management (2016-2020), so the first review measures are being assessed for the first time in this report.
“during 2020 we think of assessing the current strategy and drafting the new strategy for the period 2021-2025. As an umbrella strategy in the field of the MFP, where we will address relevant challenges and our goals using international standards, but also the best experiences and practices from the wider region”, Mr. Baftiu.
On the other hand, European Commission representatives praised the commitment of public institutions to the implementation of the Public Finance Reform Strategy (SRMFP) 2016-2020, with particular emphasis on domestic and external intelligence, but also in other sectors in public finance management.
