Missile launches Tuesday and calls for new proposals were clearly actions to increase pressure on the United States, from which North Korea expects concessions during the talks. Pjojang is believed to require security guarantees and release from US sanctions.
According to the South Korean army's central command, the North Korean missiles flew some 30 miles [330 km] before they landed at sea. Whether these weapons were ballistic missiles or any other kind of missiles is unknown.
On Monday evening, North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Choi Son Hui said her country is ready to continue nuclear weapons talks in late September, provided the United States sits at the negotiating table with new proposals. She added that if these proposals are not satisfactory, up-to-date agreements between the two countries could be concluded.
On the other hand, the White House has not yet commented on reports of launching missiles and the North Korean official's statement, writes the Guardian”, broadcast Express.
