In her statement to Tanjug, she stressed the US role in the Kosovo dialogue Serbia, but also stated that these talks are held under the EU umbrella.
“The US has made an important contribution to our work in the Western Balkans, especially when it comes to success in EU-mediated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. The EU and the US share a strong common interest in a stable and prosperous Western Balkans, and we look forward to continuing close co-operation with the US and Matt Palmer as US special envoy”, she has said.
She stressed the fact that the EU and the US have been working closely in the Western Balkans so far, but she also recalled that European diplomacy chief Federica Moghrini was “fully and personally” engaged in dialogue mediation, as well as in EU prospects for “Serbia, Kosovo and the entire Western Balkans”.
“We welcome any commitment to support the EU-brokered dialogue, whether it comes from member states, the international community, and especially from the United States”, Kocijancic has added.
