Greek seismologist warns: Other earthquakes - the damage of a lesser one - can be devastating

Greek seismologist Akis Tselentis says caution is needed and that the current situation was not a surprise to him. T CH- As one of the most experienced seismologists in Greece, how do you judge yesterday's seismic activity in Albania?
Akis Tselentis didn't impress me because a huge amount of energy has been concentrated in this area, so it would once produce a powerful earthquake. Fortunately, it happened in the marine area and not near Tirene, and we survived. Nevertheless, Albania has a strong seismic dynamism and must certainly take some measures to reduce the risks in these cases. There are techniques like this. As you know, I'm at the Geodynamic Institute and the National Observatory and I'd like to go to Tiranne at some point and have a lecture. Let's talk about the possibility of reducing the risk in cases of powerful earthquakes.
T How do you assess the situation, there will be more earthquakes?
No, we won't. I think it was the main earthquake. But we'll have more swings.
T CH- Can this term influence to “-intelligrate” other earthquakes in the region?
Akis Tselentis - I find that difficult. But there will be constant swings for some time. And it may also be that one of these quakes is of devastating effects, since if a home or residence has been slightly damaged by a slight shaking, it may collapse. It'll take special care in the next few hours.
