A meeting of the Legal Commission in Georgia's assembly has turned into chaos after an MP decided to take justice into her hands, hitting a colleague's face. She did so after she felt offended by the MP's comments.
MP Eka Beseli said she was obliged to use violence at Thursday's session after her colleague, Vano Zardiasvili, made comments about her morality after publishing a video on the life of the lawmaker.
Beselia, one of the few deputies in the men-dominated assembly, said before reporters that she would not apologize to anyone for her actions, adding that the ruling party and its billionaire, Bidzin Ivanisvili, are responsible for comments she called provocation.
There is a line that I will not allow to be crossed by anyone. He will receive the same answer whenever he speaks something like that”, the former ruling party member said. “He got what he deserved”, the MP added.
On the other hand, the attacked MP said he did not intend to offend his colleague when he said his morale is not like Beseli's. He said: “As for Lady Eka Beseli, I didn't insult her. It is constantly trying to put itself into political processes”, writes “Free Europe”, Report Express.
