In a statement Monday, the company has announced it has launched bankruptcy procedures at the Kranj District Court in Slovenia. Bankrupt procedures have been initiated by management due to financial problems and the inability to pay employees.

Now the court in Slovenia has three days to decide on the opening of bankruptcy procedures. The company has announced it will cancel all flights.

In regard to the case, Slovenian Minister for Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Pocivalsek has said the government was considering creating a new national company to improve Slovenia's international connection after the failure of “Adrias”, writes “exyaviation”.

In the last week, “Adria” has cancelled more than 400 flights, affecting more than 15 thousand passengers. These include flights from/to Tirana and Pristina Airport. The company has now left 558 workers unemployed. “Adria Airways” conducted the latest operation by Copenhagen towards Ljubljana on September 23rd.

“Adria Airways” was purchased by Munich-based fund “4K Invest” in 2016 for a total of 100,000 euros, through its branch “AA International Holding”. Under the “We fix”, “4K Invest” said 2016

“Adria Airways will maintain good ties for businesses and offer attractive prices for tourists. It will continue to serve in the markets of Slovenia, Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia, connecting these states to the world through the Étar Alliance network. We aim to grow even in Estonia, a market that we entered in November 2015”.

However, since then, “Adria” left Estonia, and in Kosovo there was a major decline in ticket sales. Earlier in the year, the fund said there is no chance of growth in Slovenia due to small markets. /tch
