The ballot boxes on October 6th will also be addressed to prisoners. Within cells, about 1,000 and 500 prisoners will vote for their representatives in the Assembly. The vote will take place in domestic prisons, and according to the USKK there is no difference from other polling stations. They have deadlines to register for voting by 1 October.

Sunday, October 6th, the prisoners will also be found with paper. Despite most of them being deprived of freedom, the vote will take place like all other citizens of the country.

This year, more than a thousand detained prisoners will vote from prisons.

Kosovo Correspondent Service spokesman Florent Gashi has told Gazeta Express that the number of prisoners who have the right to vote in this election stands at over a thousand and 500. Of all this number of voters in prisons, only 34 are women.

But, Gashi says this number can change.

“At the actual moment, at correctional centres, detention centres and at the Supreme Security Prison, the number of prisoners who have the right to vote in the 6 October elections is about 1548. The number may change. Of about 1548 persons, 34 of them are women”, Gashi says.

The voting process in the country's prisons, according to the USKK, is no different than the one held at other polling stations.

SHKK spokesman has explained how the entire voting process takes place at stations

The electoral process takes place just as in all other polls in the Republic of Kosovo, the CEC mobile teams, as well as other times along with electoral material, are placed within corrective institutions in spaces that the SKK provides. All prisoners will rightly be forwarded to one at the voting centre within the institution, where each prisoner will exploit his own voting rights”, Gashi's answers are said.

And that the voting process in prisons is the same as in all other polling stations, they say at the Electoral Commission.

CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has told Gazeta Express that the Central Election Commission in any election process also enables prisoners to vote on election day, not going to the polls, but sending the mobile team to them.

Elez has said that to vote they must be registered in the first institutions. It claims the registration deadline is through October 1st.

The period for registering persons with special voting needs through mobile teams began on September 25th and closed on October 1st”, Elesi's answers to the Journal Express said.

Otherwise, at today's meeting the Central Election Commission accredited another 9 thousand and 50 observers.

According to CEC data, the number of accredited observers so far stands at 12 thousand and 872.

The majority of accredited observers so far represent around 10,000 political subjects certified for participating in the election, while the rest are from local NGOs (2,722), international organisations and embassies (47) and media (129).

In the 2017 parliamentary elections, the number of observers accredited by the CEC was about 30,000.
