After the ceremony, Abbott said he is eager to develop and strengthen relations between the two countries.
I'm happy to present my Royal Letter to President Thaci. The UK and Kosovo enjoy deep bonds of friendship and co-operation forged in the most difficult times. I look forward to developing and strengthening our relations with the people of Kosovo, and continuing the work of my ancestors to help reform and modernise the institutions, and Kosovo's democracy, and to encourage and support those within the system and who are fighting corruption and nepotism”, Abbott has said.
The UK was the first country to have established diplomatic relations after Kosovo declared independence in February 2008.
Nicholas Abbott is the fifth ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo.
