Kosovo Customs Director Bahri Berisha has indicated about “EO”, that so far in 2019, 1,000 and 450 tonnes of cigarettes and 3 thousand and 500 tons of coffee have been imported.
“Cigaret, within the year in Kosovo, about 3,000 tonnes are imported, consumption in Kosovo is in this amount of 3 thousand tonnes. If we only receive taxes somewhere there are 170-180m euros in taxes collected from this category. So far we have about 1,000 and 450 tons of tobacco imports for this period in 2019. In coffee, Kosovo's annual coffee consumption is about 7 thousand tonnes. So far we have about 3 thousand and 500 tonnes that have been imported to Kosovo”, he said.
According to him, cigarettes enter the group that brings mostly into the state budget along with derivatives and vehicles.
“We are importers. Somewhere around 90 percent we import while exporting very little. Everything is imported, starting with fuel, food goods, techniques, IT products, agricultural products. If we talk from the aspect of which goods bring in more, then there are derivatives that bring most of the revenues into the state budget, then cigarettes and vehicles and general products”, Berisha has further declared.
