Serbia's Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said during the day that Northern Macedonia would violate international laws unless it extradites former KLA soldier Tomor Morina.
To REL), Stefanovic said all Interpol countries should respect international regulations.
All countries that are part of Interpol must observe international regulations. Northern Macedonia should, under the command of Serbia's arrest and documents provided, hand over Morina state authorities that have the right to it.”, the Serbian minister said.
He expressed concern over Prime Minister Zoran Zaev's comments.
Northern Macedonia's “Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has said they will respect international law, which means extradition to Serbian authorities. If that doesn't happen, we'll see what happens next, I don't want to prejudge.”, he said.
We remember that Morina was arrested by Macedonian police last week following an arrest order by Interpol and Serbia, which suspected him of war crimes against civilians in Kosovo. The Skopje Criminal Court ordered his extradition in 30 days. The Serbian Justice Ministry has indicated it will apply to the Macedonian judiciary for its extradition.
Earlier this week, the Prosecutor of Organised Crime in Skopje rejected a request by Morina's lawyer, Naser Raufi, for his acquittal that he was a non-state “citizen and that there was a possibility of escape.
Morina's arrest provoked numerous reactions in Kosovo and northern Macedonia.
