Along with the wine, Kosovo comes exiles.

In addition to resting, they come to demean with family members and relatives.

But this rest, in addition to the financial side, is also costing them hours.

Their path to their homeland is particularly extending their multi-hour waitings across the borders...

Nerdjivane Sejdiu-Ferai, an Albanian-language teacher and interpreter in Geneva, comes on vacation every year in Ferizaj with her family.

They choose to come to Kosovo by car for two reasons: the airline ticket prices are considered high, and secondly, the car is needed during the month-long stay in Kosovo.

But their arrival in their homeland is costing them time.

She has told of albinfo.ch, that depending on communications, driving from Switzerland to Kosovo can last up to 38 hours.

The path must depend on expectations at the border. It happens that we expect between two and eight hours at the 11x1> border, Nerdzhivanja points out.

Travelers also face similar expectations.

An exile from Cyril, who has had them come to Kosovo even by bus, shows that he has spent about 37 hours.

The slightly shorter route is for exiles coming from Balkan countries.

Whether they travel by car or bus, some exiles from Slovenia and Bosnia take up to 15 hours to get to Kosovo or vice versa. However, neither are they spared long waitings at the border.

The plane saves time but damages the pocket

The plane seems to be the right solution to saving time but not the money. Part of the exiles, especially those with families, have the potential to come by car because of the slightest expense.

Nerdzhivanja says that during the summer season, tickets have been encountered at 600 and 700 francs. Consider these awards, for him and her four - member family, it is more economical to use the car.

As it shows, driving, counting both directions and any other necessary expense along the long road, costs less than 1,000 euros.

Arriving in Kosovo, High Prices, Again Waitings

However, the high expenses of the exiles do not end with their arrival home. Nerdzhivanja says that during the time exiles come to Kosovo, occasionally, prices of various products are raised.

According to her, price manipulations are done especially in stores that don't charge prices. And that problem, she's already addressed it to some officials in the Ministry of Commerce.

There's always price hikes on the clothes. If we get close and ask him about the price, we get a product that really costs 18 euros, and we ask him what the price is, they say, "Here, for you, take 25 euros”, she tells you.

But this is not the only problem facing the returning exiles in Kosovo. Nerdzhivan says that every time they come on vacation, they face street work, which makes their circulation difficult.

There are streetworks, street camels, just when exiles arrive, and it becomes a mess... Whether you want to go to lunch with your family or visit someone, you spend more time on the road than you do for visiting”, she adds.

Beyond the roads, exiles are also facing expectations in Kosovo institutions and shops.

And according to Nerdjivane, there is no respect for the waiting period.

Organizations for the diaspora: Right but Not in Time

Kosovo teacher from Geneva is informed of activities organised at Ferizaj for the diaspora. But according to her, they are kept very early, at a time when not all exiles have yet to gather.

“in the Ferizaj municipality, the organisations usually do so in June, and it's not an adequate time. If they want to accumulate the diaspora, they have to keep them from July”, she suggests.

Nerdzhivana also says there must be more guida/roads and other tools that help exiles but other tourists visit a certain city.

As for the area of culture, it considers that even book prices in Kosovo are high compared to the standard of living. In this regard, she suggests that libraries be supplied with new books and that they also be accessible to exiles.

And finally, as an educated person, Nerdzhivanja suggests that during the time of the exiles, more seminars and table discussions between Kosovo students and diaspora.

And despite the challenges they face, Nerdzhivan, as full of other exiles, promises to come back to Kosovo. A month each year will preserve him for his homeland, which he keeps in mind all the time. Because love of Kosovo, draws it like a magnet...
