Police neglect training in the North, chief of EULEX sharply criticises

EULEX mission chief in Kosovo, Bernd Thran, has sent criticism to the Kosovo Police Chiefs in Pristina, as according to him it is a shame that none of them have participated in a EULEX and KFOR organisation along with Kosovo Police from Mitrovica [...]
“Today's exercise was very encouraging to see, but it was unfortunate that no representative of the Kosovo Police from Pristina participated in this event to see the development of the Kosovo Police's capacities in the north”, Triran has said, the official EULEX site reports.
Today's training is designed for mob control and riot control at the camp at the Kovovo Sella, where the Chief of Chief of the Union attended. EULEX, Bernd Thran, KFOR Chief of Staff Shawn Harris and the commander of the Kosovo Police in the north, Nenad Djuric.
Thran says the organisation was an excellent demonstration of KFOR, EULEX and the Kosovo Police co-operation.
“Today we saw a great demonstration of how all three organisations can co-operate and co-ordinate a scenario of crowd control and unrest, with which I hope none of us will have to face”, Thran said.
