“In the testing site of the Russian Defence Ministry in the Arkangelsk region, when testing a system of liquid missile stimuli, an explosion and lighting of a product” occurred, the military department reported.
An official at the northern port of Arkangelsk said a Dvina Bay area on the White Sea had been closed for transportation for a month due to the incident.
“Zona is closed”, the official said, Sergei Kozub, without providing further details.
The blast is the second major incident that hit the army in Russia this week.
A series of explosions rocked a weapons depot at a military base in Siberia on Monday, killing one, injured 13 and causing authorities to evacuate thousands of people from nearby settlements.
