The Democratic League of Kosovo, through a reaction to the media, has said that the outgoing government has no right to appoint new ambassadors.
Kosovo's “Democratic Order expresses concern over the illegal appointment of ambassadors, which the recently made to the government step down”.
“With these actions, the outgoing Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with outgoing Prime Minister Haradinaj and President Thaci, have further degraded the foreign service of the Republic of Kosovo, despite the case under consideration for the competencies of the Constitutional Court-led government”, the LDK says in this reaction.
Here's the full reaction:
The Democratic League of Kosovo expresses concern over the illegal appointment of ambassadors, which has recently made the government resigned. With these actions, the outgoing Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with outgoing Prime Minister Haradinaj and President Thaci, have further degraded the foreign service of the Republic of Kosovo, despite the case under consideration for the competencies of the Constitutional Court-led Government.
Such actions are at the expense of public interest and further politicise diplomatic service. In addition, the Democratic League strongly condemns the actions of the outgoing PDK coalition, AAK, NISMA and AKR to invite meetings of the Foreign Affairs Commission for the appointment of political ambassadors a day before the distribution of the Parliament. The chairman of the Commission and member of this commission from the LDK ranks have refused to call this meeting and participate in it, as in any other case of the appointment of political ambassadors.
This coalition is isolating the Republic of Kosovo more and more daily in order to accommodate party militants in key institutions. With the LDK coming to Government, the legality of any decision taken after the prime minister's resignation will be considered.
For the Democratic League of Kosovo, it is very important that each decision be realised in line with the Constitution, legislation in force and in line with the principle of meritocracy.
