Serbia's prime minister, Ana Brnabiq, said today in Skopje that despite opposing positions for Kosovo, it is important to discuss this issue in meetings with Macedonian officials.
At a joint press conference with northern Macedonia Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, Brnabiq said the economy was the dominant topic, but also discussed Kosovo's membership in international organisations and the impact of this issue on relations between the two countries.
“There is no easy answer here, it is important to have open and frank communication,” said Brnabiq when asked by Tanjug if she asked Zaev directly to call on Pristina to lift the tariffs.
She said she is a lawyer for every open issue, but “Pristina closed commercial communications for the first time by setting for tariffs for products from Serbia”.
This has done incalculable damage to the entire region,” Brnabiq stressed.
Zaev told the same issue for Tanjug that Pristina's tariffs are unacceptable and contrary to all treaties, and have a negative effect on strengthening the region.
