As a rationale for not connecting the VV coalition and the alternative is said to be refusing to accept the VV alternative's identity.
So far the VV has failed to make a pre-election coalition with either the LDK, while the LDK has rejected the LDK's bid for a coalition, where any candidate between Kurti and Osman will get more votes would become prime minister.
Full announcement from Alternative:
Dear friends and supporters,
As the deadline for the selection of pre-election coalitions approaches, let me communicate that the alternative has not reached agreement with the Vetevendosje movement.
The reason for this result is to reject the VV's identity.
From my direct communications with VV Chairman Albin Kurti, I was announced for the first time officially yesterday that our participation in the election in the joint list is conditioned with our inspection on the VV's list without signs and official appointment of the Alternative as part of the coalition.
Dear friends,
The alternative as a new party has passed and is going through various challenges, but one has been consistent and always remains for us: to remain faithful to liberal democratic values and principles.
Dedicated people and professionals are traveling with us on this identity that cannot be lost on the condition of participating in an election list.
We are a party of the state-building and committed values to working for the state of Kosovo part of the European family.
We have believed in creating a common bloc aimed at changing the current situation in Kosovo. We have never and never conditioned anyone with positions on the list, with positions in government after elections, nor with other favors at the expense of the country's interest.
The only legitimate and basic demand we have, to be known our presence in the election process and in partnership with other parties, as well as co-ordination of programming points for governance.
The coalition bid we have had from other parties, but there is still no decision on the pre-election coalition.
In the last case and without the possibility of reaching an agreement with one of the opposition parties, we are committed to competing on our own with the dedication of presenting the progressive governing programme and on the basis of transparency and accountability governance.
Thank you for your interest and trust at the Alternative.
