Through project “RER4”, which the EU and Ministry for Return and Community have funded, in the Serb settlements of the municipality of Istog have returned 800 Serbs, while Cerkoles Serbs have not moved at all from the village. Serbia has built drying coma with a capacity of 800kg.
Serbia's government has continued to finance different projects for Serbs in different parts of Kosovo through the Serbian Office for Kosovo. A project, which has the cost of about 60 thousand euros, has been realised in the largest Serbian village in the municipality of Istog, Osojan, while all Serbian state institutions operate exclusively in this village.
In fact, in Osojan it works with all its Serbian Istog municipality organs, while parallel chairman is Malisha Djuric of Osoyanni. A drying municipality, for the needs of Serbian families returning to the territory of the Istog municipality, is inaugurated on Wednesday in Osojan.
The Serbian government through the Serbian Office for Kosovo has financed the 800-pound dryer of capacity (about 60 thousand euros) by 24 hours.
Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo in Serbia's government, Zoran Bojovic, has stated that this investment is one of the projects that has been implemented on the basis of Serbia's president's initiative, Aleksandar Vuciq. He has made it known that the means for building the drying coma were allowed in October of last year, writes the newspaper “Voice”.
The construction of dryer in Ossojan, conditions have been created for families returning to the municipality of Istog for the production of new products, from trees, vegetables, herbs and other products, and the possibility of their best in the market. The drying coma enables residents of this area to be employed, the possibilities of such objects are multiple, and the Office for Kosovo will continue with financing such projects. Last year we have invested about 200m dinars (about 1.8m euros) in greenhouses, while this year completes projects that in essence enable the Serb remnant of Kosovo”, Bojovic said, convey local Serbian media to northern Mitrovica ( TV Most). He has reiterated that before the war in this part of Kosovo, some 8,500 Serbs lived, while now in the municipality of Istog live around 800 examples and that there is no private factory. He has invited Kosovo Serbs to form agricultural co-operatives, because, as he has clarified, “then the possibilities are greater, there are also the opportunities of the Republic of Serbia to help those in the cooperative”.
And meanwhile, the parallel chairman of Istog, Malisha Djuriq, told Serbian media that the dry hall that has been built in Osojan will be in service to all Serbs stationed in 18 settlements in this municipality. “Plasing on the market of returnees products is a problem and I think such an object will exceed these problems”, said parallel chairman of Istog Malisha Djuric.
