Veliu: We can keep the LDK General Assembly this month

The new LDK chairman in Podujevo, Agim Veliu, says the LDK elections will end either way this month. He has said there is no reason to postpone more once the election process is completed in the remaining LDK branches.

“We are towards the end of the” election, Veliu said on Sunday for Express.

The LDK started elections a few months ago. The elections in Pec, Istog and Kamenice have ended Saturday. Only in Mitrovica, Vushtrri, Ferizaj and LDK's Third Branch remain unfinished. Some of these remaining branches have had problems during the election process.

“There is no reason to postpone the party elections”, Veliu said, when asked if there was any problem between them.

However, in the race for LDK chief, Agim Veliu and Lutfi Haziri are working on the ground. It's also mentioning Avdullah Hoti, but that this one from the loss of elections has remained silent within the LDK.

Meanwhile, Vjosa Osmani is still being the option for LDK chief, but her supporters have managed to win through the party's branches.

Also in the race is former LDK Chairman Fatmir Sejdiu, who has been welcomed to Prizren on Saturday.

Isa Mustafa was voted in for LDK chief four years ago when he decided with advertising to vote for Party Chief. At the time, it had been eliminated from the Vjosa Osmani competition, which had managed to meet the criteria for entering the race, which required the signatures of 50 plus one of LDK's delegates.

This year's elections in LDK have started on March 8th. They were meant to end at the end of the summer, though there have been warnings that they could be postponed until autumn, when there is also expected to be motions for the government's collapse.
