The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, has met today Central Election Commission Chairman Valdete Daka, with whom he has discussed the readiness of this institution to organise early elections, if need should arise.
President Thaci has stressed that, in line with the constitutional obligation issued by Article 95, he will deplete all possibilities for consulting political parties represented in the Kosovo Assembly to find an answer to the new political reality.
“If political parties are unable to respond to this new political reality in a reasonable timeline, I am ready to announce the new elections immediately, President Thaci has said.
He has added that from Speaker Daka it has been announced that the CEC is ready to organise early elections at any time.
President Thaci has stressed that it is essential that Kosovo have new, functional, efficient, more comprehensive, and as soon as possible to advance important processes.
