So has the Swiss Parliament decided today. This agreement returns social security co-ordination between Switzerland and Kosovo.
Kosovo has been the only successive state of Yugoslavia with which Switzerland has not had contractual relations in the area of social security.
The Federal Council had concluded its social security agreement with the former Yugoslavia in 2010.
Kosovo citizens since 2010 have been unable to receive Swiss AHV or IV pensions abroad.
This will cost Switzerland 16 million francs per year. About 200,000 Kosovars live in Switzerland.
