Opposition, NGOs and analysts: Pristina without chairman

About two years of ruling by Pristina chairman Shpend Ahmeti is being named by the opposition and civil society as disappointing because of failures in realising capital projects. They say that for these years nothing is changing in the capital, and there is no mayor in some form of capital. Meanwhile, municipal officials deny these accusations and [...]
From the largest opposition party, the Democratic League of Kosovo, say that Pristina is having a bad run in many areas. Asembilist Agim Gashi says that under the audience report, management in many areas and in particular capital investments is being viewed badly.
If we refer to reports of either periodic or audience, it is seen that Pristina is conveying a misgovernance and bad spending of resources in many fields and in particular in capital investments. Because don't realize them, qualitative implementation don't waste means, low spending means makes us appreciate that Pristina is being ruled bad”, he says.
Even the other opposition party, the Vetevendosje Movement, has addressed numerous criticisms for all delays and procrastination of capital projects.
This party's amblist, Eman Candman, says these are the direct failures of President Ahmeti.
“Such promises have been held last year, even as aamblis of the Shpend Ahmeti party have declared and publicly that it will end last year completely and not its beginning. But so far he hasn't even begun to finish it. The same job is that with the collector's problems there, I don't know they've been selected... this is a direct failure of the mayor for the city, I would say more because of his negligence and laziness”, he says.
The criticism of not achieving capital projects realisation in Pristina has also come from civil society and organisations that monitor the municipality.
From the non-governmental organisation “Arise”, Arton Demhasey claims that nothing is changing in Pristina, according to him, is happening due to the non-money spending that is ahead of capital investment.
For thisggress, he says there is an inability or negligence in governance in Pristina, both in the underground parking project and in the cholera construction stalls in Calabria.
“Maybe it's disability, or it's negligence, or I don't know what I'm calling the governance that's happening in Pristina. For the fact that nothing is changing in the capital and the fact that it is not being managed to spend money that has been money for capital investments in the municipality... it has been two years since Pristina's government and we're not seeing any parking lot that has started to invest in Pristina... against the wind that comes much bigger before it started working. Instead of completing this project and citizens becoming more benefited from the project, the citizen only makes the situation worse, especially those who live around this river”, Demahaja declares.
Meanwhile, political analyst Rasim Alija tells Kosovo that by the way of current governance, the capital has no chairman. This situation, according to him, is the result of slowing down or holding many capital projects hostage.
There is no mayor and therefore there is no government. When I say that, I consider slowing down or holding up many capital projects. Don't complete those projects and, above all, one kind of anemia to the chairman. Even the directors of the directors in advance of the projects and above all the platforms that Mr. Ahmeti has been competing in 2017<18x1>, he says.
The director of Capital Investments in Pristina, Gezim Mehmeti, denies all these accusations and provides figures regarding investments in the capital, which according to him, testify to the opposite of what the opposition and civil society are saying.
As Mehmet says only this year, over 16m euros of investments in road infrastructure have been envisioned, these are considered projects that have never occurred in Pristina since the post-war.
While for larger projects such as the collector in Calabria and underground parking lot, Mehmeti says there have been delays due to property problems and procurement regulations.
This is not accurate, because this year is already pre-infrastructured by just over 16 million, the overall amount of capital investments is over 32 million. They are ahead where Pristina's 170 roads are constructed. Síka has never since faced with more infrastructure projects in Pristina municipality. One thing that slows down the process that we should respect based on the law and the rules of procurement, there are prologues”, Mehmeti declares.
Otherwise, according to the mayor of Komuna, Shpend Ahmeti, O The DS has given the municipality the right to the underground parking lot with over 500 parking lots starting this year.
