A nine - month - old boy drowned in the bathtub after his mother, according to police, was confused.

Police say they received a call about three o'clock Monday morning.

When they arrived at the scene, they found the child unconscious.

The child's mother said that she was washing the child and a two - year - old in the bathtub together. But she said that she was confused for a short period of time and left the other room. When she returned, she saw the nine - month - old child facedown.

The baby was transported to Texas Children's Hospital, where he was declared dead.
