In the referendum, held on May 21st 2006, 55.5 per cent of citizens who have emerged in the referendum have indicated Montenegro's independence.
Montenegro's independence was announced on June 3rd, while on June 28th of that year Montenegro became a 192th member of the United Nations, while on May 11, 2007, a member of the Council of Europe.
