The director of the Gjakova Hospital, Ahmet Asllani, has told “Zrin” that the decision to suspend eligible cases has been taken by the Steering Council at this hospital.
According to him, it is initially thought that for a month no electronic operations would be conducted, but that this decision was suspended after a week.
We've done this before when we had few staff. They have made a request because of increased number of patients to give them emergency priorities. The Steering Council has ruled at the request of the operating bloc's anesthesia units, but we have abolished it. In gynecology we have had no interruptions of effective programmes, but in Surgery, Urology and Orthopedic. We've been holding the decision for a week, but we've been thinking for a month. We made the decision sometime after July 15,”, he said.
