Croatia submitted its application last Thursday to become part of the unique currency, launching a process that will probably take a year.
Croatia's “goal shows that the eurozone is a stable anchor for stability and growth in Europe and that continues to attract new members”, said Mario Centeno, head of the Eurogroup, comprised of Eurozone finance ministers.
“The measures Zagreb has received for bank supervision, governance and other key issues show Croatia's determination to be part of the Euro-family”, he added. / ATSH/
