Driton Hajdari suffers from multiple sclerosis that has left him almost unable to care for himself, reports KTV.
He is convicted in the case of “Blaca” and when he realized of the disease, he was serving the sentence.
And so he says he didn't even get the right treatment.
Because of his serious health condition, at his request, his sentence was suspended by the Constitutional Court for about a year and a half.
By now his wife, Teuta. She says that it takes 24 hours to care for her because her illness also enables her to carry out her physical needs.
Despite Driton Hajdari's serious condition, on July 4th he was rejected for continuing suspension by the Constitutional Court in Pristina.
Despite that, he says he will accept any decision.
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court has given several reasons why it has refused to suspend Hajdari's sentence.
The letter says that “the suspension of execution should not last any longer than the minimum period needed for completion of medical treatment”.
Long ago, however, the Department of Prisons found that prison personnel could not care for him.
This has been confirmed for KTV again via an email.
“Rasti is with a multi-progregated sclerosis. This person can't move and carry out the physical needs and feed without help, so the aprior is not compatible for a prison”, says the BSB response.
For refusing his request to suspend the sentence, Driton Hajdari has already complained at the Court of Appeals.
