Cipras loses election, wins right Greek conservatives

According to the newly-published ex-polles, the winner of the parliamentary elections in Greece is the conservative rightist New Democracy party. Its leader, Kyriakos Mitcotakis, is expected to replace incumbent Prime Minister Alexis Cypras. But who is Kyriacos Mitsotakis, the man who will take the place of Cypras? Its leader, Kyriakos Mitcotakis, is expected to replace incumbent Prime Minister Alexis Cypras.

But who is Kyriacos Mitsotakis, the man who will take the place of Cypras?

As the sun sets over the Acropolis, plagued by the hollow light of the strand, Kyriakos Mitsotakis climbs onto the podium, marching excitedly. The Background extends to the most famous milestone of Greek antiquity, but prior to it “waves a” a white and blue sea (the national flag's walls), shifting from the crowd of supporters.

Greece's next prime minister is placed on the stage. Greece will turn blue, blue and blue and blue on Sunday, ” thunders Mitsotakis's voice. On Sunday we vote, on Monday we turn a page into the history of Greek politics. ”

All demoscopes predict a convincing victory for the centre-right New Democracy, which will likely win a direct majority, ending the <x0-seconds rally of the past decade with cabinets formed by fragile coalitions. Overall, polls offer the conservatives' lead projection to “Syriza” leftist with eight percentage points. If we are to believe “profecy”, the “NewDemocracy” will win 155-159 seats in the 300-seat legislature, repeating the deep loss of leftist radicals in the European elections, which forced Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to announce early elections.

Greek politics flows among Mitsotakis's waterways. His father, Konstantinos Mitsotakis, has been prime minister in the early 1990s, while his sister, Dora Bakoyannis, has served as mayor of Helen's capital, when the Olympics took place in 2004, before Mitsotakis took over as foreign minister. Together with Papandreou socialist and the conservative Karamanlis family, Mitsotakis have dominated Greek politics for years.

Mitsotakis, the son of a former prime minister who has faced charges of nepotism, has extended a new belief. The former cosmopolitan banker has been campaigning hard-to-do, fuelling his white shirts and crossing the country hand-to-hand to hear the problems of ordinary Greeks. In a nation that has suffered as rarely the consequences of Europe's financial crisis, Mitsotakis has focused on his electoral programme mainly on economic renewal, promising to cut taxes, attract foreign investment and create new jobs.

The “Standing here in this sanctified land I remember first,” -- he addressed the crowd in the closing rally Thursday evening. “Fuqia is not the goal, it's just a tool to improve citizens' lives”. Mitsotakis has joined the merits of rehabilitation of one of Europe's most classic conservative parties, which was not long ago linked to criminal and corruption policies, blamed for the country's debts and financial problems.

What we're seeing is a personal victory for a liberal reformist leader. In many ways, New Democracy is a discredited party, which is responsible for the problems that forced Greece to seek rescue programmes”, notes political analyst Aris Hatzis. “He is a master speaker, refraining and very self-confidence”.

After four and a half years of leftist populist rule under Tsipras, markets are hopeful in the possibility of the return to power of a pro-Sypire government. The costs of borrowing Athens have marked record reductions since the 26 May punitive vote.

But dangers may lie in wait. At Thursday's rally, the first and last for him in Athens- Mitsotakis conveyed his most pressing message: the need for Greeks to address ballot boxes. Although the 51-year-old has followed a more consensual approach, pledging that he will represent as prime minister “all Greeks, whether they support us or not”, the spectrum of low turnout is potential. These elections are the first to be held in July since the collapse of military rule in 1974. This month of hallucinate heat, Greeks are either on vacation or still spend their weekend on the beach.

Mitsotakis's ability to win most of the middle class will depend on “performance” of minority parties. In the right quarter, the “New Democracy” faces competition from the neo-fascist party “Golden Agim” and the ultra-national force “Greek solution”, a new political formation that has channeled anger over the controversial agreement on changing the name of Northern Macedonia, signed between Tsypras and his counterpart Zoran Zaev.

“The smaller parties, including Yanis Varoufakis' MeRA25, garnered a total of 20% of the votes in European elections. ”- claims Ilias Nicolaculos, with long experience in measuring public opinion trends. The New Democracy “will receive the majority, but the composition of the next government depends on turnout”.

Meanwhile, the “headquarters Syriza” has echoed fears that Varoufakis, a former finance minister under Tsipras's rule, would also pose a threat to a party that came to power in 2015, promising to end austerity measures demanded by rescue loans. A “party-free person”, who since it has “dals from line” after arguing with the 45-year-old superior, is “col” and enjoys great popularity among Greek youth.

Analysts agree that if Mitsotakis wins deeply, he will have the chance to overlap his image to “New Democracy”. The politician describes himself as a progressive and has signaled that he will place the unmarked technocrats in prominent positions once in the government. The goal of his victory will allow him to take the bold measures he expresses willingness to implement”- analyse Hatzis. If you win a direct majority, it will enjoy a political hegemony period. It will be his chance to avoid becoming a short-term prime minister we have seen in the era of rescue packages”. /papsy
