The BTA agency broadcasts a statement from the Bulgarian ministry, at which it is said that at the meeting the Serbian diplomat has been informed that Dacic's statement is unacceptable and contrary to Bulgarian expectations of friendly relations and good neighbourly relations.
The Bulgarian side expects such statements not to be repeated in the future, according to a statement by the ministry.
The reason for Serbia's ambassador to Sofia's call is Dacic's comment on Serbian Prime Minister Borisov's statements at the Western Balkans Summit in Poznan.
Borisov, on that occasion, stressed that Josep Borrell as the future chief of EU diplomacy, should represent the position of the entire European Union, despite the fact that Spain does not recognise Kosovo.
Dacic cautioned Borisov that the European Union's stance is not that Kosovo is independent and that the Bulgarian prime minister should respect that stance, rather than lecture on the future head of European diplomacy.
