Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini said at the central ceremony for the 20th anniversary of the liberation that Kosovo freedom is credited with KLA martyrs and great US aid.

“Today, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kosovo's liberation, having among us the greatest friends of our freedom, of our nation, of our country: President Clinton, Madam Secretary Albright, Hope General Clark, current representatives of the American administration, representatives from most of Kosovo's friendly countries”, Veselin said.

He said the Western world led by the US two decades ago saved the Albanian nation.

You, 20 years ago, saved an entire nation. You saved the homeless and frightened children. Hopeless and terrified parents. Mothers, women, helpless girls. An entire people from genocide. And, above all, you gave meaning to human values, to show that no one, ever, will be oppressed, overstepped, and threatened just because the other person can do it and is stronger. The contest of this humanity is always the place of freedom and democracy in the world -- the United States of America”, Veselin said.

The full speech of Prime Minister Wessel:

Honored President Hashim Thaci

Honored Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj

Dear President of the United States, Bill Clinton

Madam Secretary of State Madeline Albright

Honored General Wesley Clark

Palmer

Representatives of Friends

Dear citizens of Kosovo,

Today, all citizens of our country, wherever they live, eyes, minds, and hearts are with us, in this square of our capital.

We celebrate our 20th anniversary of liberation, 20 years of freedom.

Today, along with great joy, we also remember our national sacrifice, thousands of lives, of Kosovo men and women sacrificed for our freedom.

We bow down before them, and we are forever grateful to their inferior sacrifice.

Eternal glory to our fallens for freedom!

Respect for Kosovo Liberation Army fighters for US-led NATO for all democratic countries, for good people everywhere in the world.

Today is a special day.

It's a great day.

A day that will remain in our nation's memory forever.

Today, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Kosovo, having among us the greatest friends of our freedom, of our nation, of our homeland: President Clinton, Madam Secretary Albright, General of Hope Clark, current U.S. administration representatives, representatives from most of Kosovo's friendly countries.

Dear President Clinton

Mrs. Albright

General Clark

20 years ago, you did what the history of all mankind has in a few cases seen.

You stood up to save a people who were facing destruction, only because they wanted to live free, like all other peoples.

You were with our people, on the darkest night and at the worst hour of his history.

We're here today:

Thanks to your determination, as the leader of the free world.

Thanks to the values on which the United States of America stands.

Thanks to the American nation's great dream of a free and peaceful world.

And we, citizens of Kosovo, our new nation, will always remember you!

Kosovo will always be, anywhere and whenever with the United States of America.

Dear President Clinton

Mrs. Albright

General Clark

In many cases, the greatness of human works exceeds the power of words to express them.

But what our words do today, feels our hearts, feels the soul of a free nation that bows down with the greatest respect for you and the United States of America.

The race of this humanity is always the place of freedom and democracy in the world.

Today, Kosovo is free, democratic, factor stability and peace!

In these 20 years of freedom, Kosovo has moved far ahead.

We have become an independent and sovereign state, which believes and works in a single vision, in the Euro-Atlantic vision.

Every step we've taken is the ongoing partnership of the United States and Western friendly countries, particularly Great Britain, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, and Western World members.

On this great day, we express our deep gratitude and determination to be part of Euro-Atlantic values to them.

Kosovo's connection to the United States and the Western World is greater than the usual strategic partnerships that arise in relations between nations.

Kosovo's connection to the United States and the West is spiritual.

It's the faith of our people.

It's a blessing from God.

It's our own state and national identity.

It's our dream of being where we belong, part of the Western world.

Dear President Clinton

Kosovo's first 20 years -- today's Kosovo, Kosovo and tomorrow -- has been and will remain the heritage of the United States of America.

Such will be the case forever.

For our freedom.

For peace and neighbor.

For a world that takes meaning from American ideals of human freedom and dignity.

Thank you, hero of our nation!

Happy forever freedom, Kosovo!
