(7 years ago)Following his release from prison, former Kosovo Liberation Army General Syleman Selimi took office as prime minister's political adviser, Ramush Haradinaj. But, the latter through an announcement on his Facebook page said that today he has released him from the councilor's position. Where, according to him, this was done with Selimi's request. [...]
Selimi himself said he was the one who has sought freedom from this position, as he indicated that this decision is completely personal and there is nothing more political to do.
I was the one who wanted to get rid of this task, thanking many Prime Minister Haradinaj because he was the first to offer me the opportunity to get hired, but my wish was that I no longer have any political activity.
The reasons are perfectly normal, private and personal, health reasons and I want the family to devote themselves and nothing else”, Selimi said of the index.
He further added that he has decided not to deal with anything else, even denying that leaving the post of prime minister's political adviser concerns his going as Albania's ambassador, which was ahead of his arrest.
I've been offered the opportunity to go and Albania's ambassador, but the same thing I said to the president I'm not going. The same thing I asked the president not to go, not even an ambassador. It's a personal decision, there's nothing I can do with politics”.
Otherwise, on 1 February of this year Selimi was appointed as political adviser to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, a week after he was released on bail, following the 227-day sentence without judicial ruling.
