Serbia currently has the most expensive wheat in the region, but I believe in Europe as well. At these prices, we are not competitors in export, while we have also lost the market in the region”, Politika “Zakis” Association Director “Zhito Srbije” (Drith of Serbia), Vukosav Sakovic. He has mentioned Croatia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, so Serbia's biggest competitors.
“Hers or later, without fail the adaptation of market prices will occur. The real thing is that we're going to adapt to changes that will take place on the international market”, Sakovic added.
Time.net recalls that Kosovo was one of Serbia's biggest wheat buyers before taxes were imposed on Serbian products. The Kosovo market, which still does not meet wheat demand from the country's fields, is oriented on other markets in the region, where, according to reports, Bo buys it at lower prices than in Serbia.
