Representatives of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Serbia, as well as representatives of the Faculty of Medicine of self-called “Pristina University” in Mitrovica, have held a meeting today.
As Serbian media write, this meeting has meant that both faculties strengthen co-operation, broadcast news.net.
Also, at this meeting, great importance has been given to health care and construction of new clinical and hospital centres, which Serbia's government in Kosovo is expected to build.
The dean of the Faculty of Medicine, in Pristina's self-called “University” in Mitrovica, Susan Matejic, has stressed that since Serbia's Community of Medical Sciences was established in Serbia in 2004, this has been the first meeting.
Matejic stressed that this meeting is held under the leadership of self-called “Pristina University” Pristina University, the so-called Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia and the ministry of the line.
On the other hand, Serbia's deputy director of the so-called Office for Kosovo in Serbia's Government, Zelko Jovovic, said that through various programmes and projects, the Government of Serbia, through this office and the Ministry of Health, has been working constantly to build general health capacities for many years.
Jovic was quoted as saying that the health system is one of the fundamental conditions for the survival of Serbian citizens in Kosovo, and that this is the biggest challenge for the government of Serbia, news broadcasts.

With the help and support of the state, we invest a lot and plan huge investments in the health care system”, the deputy of the so-called Office for Kosovo stressed in Serbia's Government.
He also stressed that Serbia's government has also planned the construction of a new clinical centre in Mitrovica and Gracanica, and a new healthcare staff is needed for that.
Otherwise, the University of Northern Mitrovica (UMV) since 1999 has not worked in accordance with the Law on Higher Education of Kosovo, but has implemented Serbia's rules, giving the identity to the University of Pristina.
