Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan's task counsel said the deployment was in response to what he described as the anti-communicable “hostile behaviour by Iranian forces.
The US Army also shares new images it says connects Iran to recent attacks by oil tanks in Oman Bay.
Iran announced Monday that it would not comply with the 2015 deal's share of curbing its nuclear ambitions.
Iran said it would exceed the border for producing enriched uranium by fourfold production by 27 June, the BBC reports.
The distribution of American troops in the Middle East was announced by Mr. Shanahan late Monday.
In his statement, he said that “The United States does not seek conflict with Iran” but the action has been taken to “the security and welfare of our military personnel working throughout the region to protect our national interests”.
