Albanologist Skender Gashi has died Thursday afternoon.
Gashi, born in 1942 in Mramor, Pristina, is known as one of the diligent scholars of albanology. Doctored in the sausage where he defended the dissertation thesis for the names of Albanians during the X centuries IV-XV, according to Serbian church sources. Gashi, an employee of the Pristina Albanological Institute from 1980 to 2003, would work as an Albanian language lecturer in Vienna. There he had also published the scientific magazine “dania”
His most well-known works are: Kosovo's <x0) topological dictionary at the existing settlements and extinct settlements” in two volumes, co-authored by “fyalonor of the words and popular expressions”, then author of the “Omonistic-historic requests for the extinct minorities of Kosovo”, writes Koha Ditore.
This year, KOHA publications have published their work “The Albanian tribe institution, in light of omomastics”. In this publication, the author learns that in the light of the omomastic and linguistic data released even some segment that would relat to the idea that the medieval tribal institution, such as the social-juridical formation based on the blood connection on the male line, can have that sense and social force in our day.
