The Swiss Parliament, it has approved an agreement last week, and so, it has become known there will be a second referendum, but they will meet again this right. The National Council has refused to hand over a referendum contract, which facilitates the rights of Kosovars.
This, reports Blick, is good news for those involved in the pension issue. The first “AHV and IV opinions will soon be returned to the Balkan state”, writes Blick, broadcast Koha.net.
The Agreement will be effective as soon as possible”, officials from the Federal Social Insurance Office have said, which according to all odds, is expected to be September 1st.
By 2010, Kosovars who worked and retired to Switzerland stopped receiving pensions if they returned to their homeland. That's because it was believed to be abuse and fraud, and Switzerland had interrupted such an agreement. Meanwhile, when the situation calmed down, agreement began on a new contract.
The new agreement, it says, will apply to all Kosovars who have retired since April 1st 2010, and who have not decided to seek atonement for the social security contributions paid in exchange for a monthly pension. We remember that the pensions of Kosovars who worked in Switzerland were suspended in 2010. This agreement has previously been signed between the former Yugoslavia and Switzerland since 1962.
