“Chairman of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia Judge Carmel Agius will soon make a decision”, said Helena Egleston, a spokesperson for The Hague for Bosnian media.
The Mechanism for Criminal Court website says 70-year-old Karadzic can serve his sentence in UN member states that have signed the contract and agreed to accept ICTY convicts. These are Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Poland, France, Austria, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
“Talks are made with all the countries mentioned. It is certain that Karadzic will not be extradited to Serbia, as has been talked about, but neither in the countries around her”, Egleston said.
